50% REDUCTION ON COMMERCIAL FINES IN DUBAI
The Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector at the Department of Economic Development (DED) has declared a cutback in commercial fines by 50%. Although, only the first fine issued in a calendar year can conform to this.
It is now needless for traders to request for settlement. They will now receive an SMS notification informing them of the discount, once the commercial violation has been inputted into the system.
As stated by Ali Rashid Lootah(CEO of CCCP),
“The Department of Economic Development is proud to launch initiatives based on the vision and directives of our leadership, especially when 2019 begins as the ‘Year of Tolerance’. We want to provide the best quality services to as many businesses as possible in Dubai. The automatic fine settlement facility will contribute to enhancing happiness in Dubai and the emirate’s position across global competitiveness indicators.”
He also added that the net value of fines settled under the 50 percent reduction in 2017-2018 was Dhs. 23.4 million. The new automated system will automatically adjust fines, thus, benefitting more business owners.
The Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection also intend to come up with several other services. They aim to build a better working business environment in UAE. Various strategies have been implemented by the government of UAE to help evolve the country as a prime international business hub.
